Altus Glen McReynolds, Sr.

Glen McReynolds, 55, of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008, the result of complications from a semi-accident on April 11th near Johnson Lake. Glen died unexpectedly at Touchstone NeuroRecovery Center in Conroe, Texas. He was born November 25, 1952, at Evansville, Indiana to J. Bea and Margaret (Berry) McReynolds. As a young boy of 5 years of age, Glen moved with his family to California. He graduated from North Hollywood High School in 1969. He then went on to serve his Country in the United States Army. Upon his discharge, he went to work with his brother, Bill, and trucked for Bill McReynolds Trucking. Glen would continue this career and at the time of his accident worked for Lonnie Johnson at Nebraska By-Products. He was united in marriage to Denise Mohr on September 12, 1987, at Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple lived in California, Denver, Colorado, and in 2001, moved to Johnson Lake. Glen loved the lake and the area. He enjoyed fishing and boating, Wildlife, especially watching the Bald Eagles, woodworking, being with friends, but, he always enjoyed the kids and grandkids the most. He loved to tease and, most generally, always had a story or two to tell. He will be so missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife: Denise McReynolds of Johnson Lake, Nebraska Five sons: Altus, Jr. and Andrea McReynolds of Kingston, Georgia Alan and Angie Wilcox of Westminster, Colorado John and Kathy McReynolds of Eustis, Nebraska Daniel Wilcox and fiancé Amy of Arvada, Colorado Don Wilcox and fiancé Perpetua of Thornton, Colorado One daughter: Heather Wilcox and fiancé Justin of Eustis, Nebraska Four brothers: Roger McReynolds of Phoenix, Arizona Bill McReynolds of San Diego, California Tim McReynolds of Ridgecrest, California J. Bea McReynolds of Ridgecrest, California Sixteen grandchildren, stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Glen was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law and father-in-law. Funeral Services will be Monday, August 11, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Bev Rautenberg-Panko officiating. Burial will be held that same day at 3:30 p.m. at Columbus Cemetery in Columbus, Nebraska with Pastor Michael Klatt officiating. There will also be Military Honors by the Columbus Honor Guard. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 10, 2008, from 2-4 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington. Memorials to the Family for later designation.
