Bernice J. Cronk, 76, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community in Lexington.
She was born October 5, 1937, in Taylor, Nebraska, to Howard and Elsie (Bishop) Lyons. Bernice attended school in Taylor and then Lexington. Following her schooling she worked for many years at Lexington Laundry and then finished her working career at Westside Care Home after 29 years.
She was united in marriage to Larry Cronk on October 8, 1965, in Lexington. Two daughters were blessed to this marriage; Lana and Toni.
Bernice enjoyed crafts, country music, yard work and flower gardening. In later years she loved being on Facebook and keeping up with family, especially the grandchildren. Her family was very important to her and she will be so very missed.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 49 years; Larry Cronk of Lexington, Nebraska; two daughters; Lana and husband Mike Reed of Columbus, Nebraska; and, Toni Cronk of Hastings, Nebraska; three grandsons; Travis (Kensie Lyon) Reed of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Tyler (fiancé Alexis Engel-Arlt) Reed of Columbus, Nebraska; and, Kyle (fiancé Iana Luft) Reed of Columbus, Nebraska; four great-grandchildren; Addison, Jude, Aiden, and Greyson; one brother; Cliff Lyons of Aurora, Colorado; one sister, Rose Catlett of Central City, Nebraska; as well as other family members and friends.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Irma Vinzant and two brothers, Clint and Marvin Lyons.
The family has honored Bernice’s wishes for cremation. There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Mr. Pat Wescoat officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to Central Plains Hospice from Cozad or American Cancer Society.
