Linda Sue Baird

Linda Sue Baird, 61 of Callaway, Nebraska, died suddenly, Thursday, July 31, 2008, at the Callaway District Hospital in Callaway. She was born February 14, 1947, at Callaway, Nebraska, to Earl and Hazel Adella (Myers) Cudaback. Linda attended school at Callaway and was united in marriage to Clifford Lee Baird on August 10, 1965, at Callaway. Two children were blessed to this union; Rick and Misty. The family lived in Hardy and Superior for several years until moving to Callaway in 1982. When the children were small she was able to stay home and be a stay-at-home mom. In 1984, Cliff realized his lifelong dream when he opened C&L Automotive, where Linda worked beside Cliff in the business. She worked for a time at Callaway Good Samaritan Center, Baldwin Filters in Gothenburg and at the time of her death was working at Right Drug in Callaway, where she greeted the customers with a sparkle in her eye and a huge smile. Linda dedicated her life to Christ when she was re-baptized in the Callaway Community Church. She enjoyed her church family very much. She also loved to crochet afghans, making many family heirlooms for each member to cherish. Linda loved her family most of all and the time spent with her grandchildren were her most happy times. She adopted her beloved dog, Cuddles, who became her 8th grandchild. Linda was a bright spot in the Callaway community and will be missed so much by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Rick (Shelly) Baird of Omaha, Nebraska Daughter and son-in-law: Misty (Roger) Keim of Cozad, Nebraska Two brothers: Bill (Pat) Cudaback of Ogallala, Nebraska Ted (Terri) Cudaback of Omaha, Nebraska Seven grandchildren: Brandon, Ashley, Kara, Elisha, Jessica, Briana and Hunter and, of course, Cuddles. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford in 2004; three brothers, Jim, Mack and Roger and three sisters, Barb, Lora and Dotty. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Callaway Community Church with Pastor Dean Haidle officiating. Burial will be in the Sand Valley Cemetery at Callaway. Visitation will be held Monday, August 4, 2008, from 4-7 p.m. at Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway. Memorials are suggested to the Family or Callaway Community Church.
