Eunice Ann (Kranau) Wescoat, 75, of Gothenburg, Nebraska formerly of Lexington, Nebraska, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg. She was born January 10, 1933, at Blue Hill, Nebraska, to Gustav Adolph Leopold and Anna Emma (Buss) Kranau. Eunice was baptized January 28, 1933, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill. She graduated from Blue Hill High School with the class of 1950. She went to Parochial school at Trinity Lutheran in Blue Hill. She was confirmed in 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill. Eunice was united in marriage to Alvin Wescoat on May 12, 1955, at Phillipsburg, Kansas. Three children were blessed to this union; Vera, David and Sherry. Eunice was a very loving and caring mother and wife. Her grandchildren were a true joy to her in many ways and even gave them nicknames as each were born. She loved being around family and friends. She had been confined to a care home for many years. Eunice enjoyed many crafts, doing and teaching them. She loved to crochet, do embroidery, sew and growing flowers and gardening. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington, Nebraska. Survivors include one son: David Wescoat of Alda, Nebraska Two daughters: Vera (Lonnie) McIntosh of Grand Island, Nebraska Sherry (Merlin) Thaden of Lexington, Nebraska One brother: Vernon (Gail) Kranau of Hastings, Nebraska Six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin in 2002; brothers, Edgar and Marvin Kranau. Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 31, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Michael Gruhn officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008, from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. at Reynolds-Love in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Family’s Choice. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
