Robert Louis Anderson, 79, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at Lexington Regional Health Center.
He was born January 22, 1935, in Hastings, Nebraska, to Andrew and Marjorie (Rose) Anderson. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1952. He then attended Milford Technical School in Milford, Nebraska. On November 30, 1953, he joined the United States Air Force where he served his country until being honorably discharged on October 26, 1957. Following his time in the service, Bob worked for Western Electric in Omaha, Nebraska, owned and operated B&E Bar in Gothenburg, Nebraska, and finished his working career with the Union Pacific Railroad. Upon retirement he moved to Lexington to take care of his ailing mother.
Bob enjoyed gardening and watching his favorite television programs.
Survivors include a sister-in-law; Beverly Anderson of Lexington, Nebraska; two nephews; Creig and wife Cayla Anderson of Centralia, Missouri; Richard and wife Candy Anderson of Alva, Oklahoma; one niece; Jo and husband Bob Keim of Lexington, Nebraska; special friends; Russell and Tina Greathouse of Lexington, Nebraska; and, caretaker, Tiana Bandini of Lexington, Nebraska; along with grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard.
The Family has honored Bob’s wishes that his body be cremated. There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Graveside Service will be Monday, May 5, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington with Reverend Kay Knudson officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department.
