George L. “Ricky” Harris, 59, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.
He was born June 21, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, to Beatrice Finch and Fletcher Page.
Ricky attended school in Chicago and worked as a C.N.A. in several hospitals and nursing homes.
He moved with his life-partner, Barbara, to Lexington six years ago. While in Lexington he worked for a time at Tyson Fresh Meats as well as Walmart.
Ricky enjoyed music, cooking, baking and being with his family and friends, especially the grandchildren.
Survivors include his life-partner, Barbara Watts of Lexington, Nebraska; children; Brenda Kye, Shinetta Harris and Ricky Harris all of Chicago; seven grandchildren; stepchildren; Ray and wife Tia Watts and Antoinette Watts all of Chicago; Gregory Watts and Paula Watts of Lexington; three brothers, two sisters all from Chicago as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at LexChristian Church in Lexington with Pastor K.C. BeDunnah officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
A Service will also be held in Chicago at a later date with cremation to follow.
