Donna M. Linn, 71, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at BryanLGH East Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
She was born July 29, 1936, near Eustis, in Frontier County, Nebraska, to Ray A. and Neva B. (Hess) Rupe.
Donna moved with her family when she was 12 years old to the Lexington area. She attended school and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1953. On October 9, 1954, she was united in marriage to Dean E. Linn at Eustis, Nebraska. Three children were blessed to this union; Michele, David and John.
Donna’s working career spanned many years, starting with working as a secretary for Fred Warnemunde, a legal secretary for Cloyd Clark in Elwood and a legal secretary for Larry Weber in Lexington. In 1986, she ran for and was elected Dawson County Clerk. She would serve Dawson County in this capacity until 2006.
She was always a very hard-worker and put 100% into everything she did. Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved being with her family. She enjoyed reading, watching Tiger Woods, coffeeing with friends, playing cards, cribbage and spending time with her great-granddaughter, Josie.
Donna was a member of First United Methodist Church and a past member of Business and Professional Women. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include one daughter: Mickey and husband Steve Reiter of Kearney, Nebraska
Two sons: Dr. David and wife Grace Linn of Pine, Colorado
John Linn of Gering, Nebraska
Two sisters: Gloria and husband Harold Benzel of Dixon, California
Karen and husband Ed Darby of Lexington, Nebraska
Six grandchildren: Hannah Richter, Dawn Reiter, Jacob Reiter, Margaret Linn, Anna Linn and Sara Linn.
One great-granddaughter: Josalinn Richter
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral Services will be Friday, July 11, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverends John Craig and Jaime Farias officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 10, 2008, from 4-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
