Wilfred Fochtman, 84, of Gordon, Nebraska, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at his son’s home in Marquette, Nebraska.
He was born March 9, 1924, at Callaway, Nebraska, to Irma (Heunefeldt) and Dewey Fochtman.
He attended school through the 8th grade, before leaving to work on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Barbara Brabham on August 24, 1949, and they had four boys; Larry, Jerry, Terry & Randy.
He and his wife, Barbara Fochtman, moved to Gordon in 1956. He ran a farm for Paul Metzger for 22 years and worked for Stanko Feed Lot until retirement.
Wilfred’s caretaker for the past four years has been his daughter-in-law, Sherry Fochtman. Also helping in the care of Wilfred has been Sherry’s sister, Jennie Reese.
Survivors include three sons: Larry Fochtman of Marquette, Nebraska
Jerry (Sharon) Fochtman of Gordon, Nebraska
Randy (Sherry) Fochtman of Marquette, Nebraska
Fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Wilfred was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents, his sister, Rosalie, and his beloved son, Terry.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. the Callaway Community Church with Pastor Dean Haidle officiating.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, 2008, 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church in Callaway.
Memorials are suggested to Fochtman Family for later designation.
