Dwayne Henry Pflaster

Dwayne H. Pflaster, 79, of Eddyville, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. He was born July 14, 1934, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, to John H. and Verda I. (Lovitt) Pflaster. Dwayne was a 1951 graduate of Eddyville High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1956. Dwayne was united in marriage to Kathleen Graul on September 17, 1970, in Kearney, Nebraska. He spent 20 years as a fuel truck driver for the Eddyville Co-op. He was an avid sportsman, always very competitive, and instilled a strong work ethic in all of his children. He enjoyed attending all of the school activities as well as the grandchildren’s activities. Family was so important to him along with his love of western movies, tinkering in the yard, his beloved golf cart and being a fan of Facebook. He had a heart of gold, a big story teller and a huge prankster. God has his hands full with Dwayne by his side! Dwayne is survived by his wife; Kathleen of Eddyville; three daughters; Deb Lynn Pflaster and partner (Doreen Hein) of Chicago, Illinois; Terrie E. (Steve) Maloley of Kearney, Nebraska; Carrie I. Pflaster of Omaha, Nebraska; two sons, Scott (Monica) Pflaster of San Clemente, California; and, J. Joe (Michelle) Bower of Kearney, Nebraska; twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell Pflaster of Kansas City, Missouri; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alvie. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the Eddyville Community Center with Reverend Doug Jones officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway, Nebraska. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Eddyville Community Center. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.
