Rollo D. “Bud” Harvey, 77, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Lexington Regional Health Center.
He was born April 29, 1936, near Brady, Nebraska, in rural Lincoln County, to Hue Henry and Nellie (Gladson) Harvey. His childhood was spent riding his bike around Lexington and the countryside, helping the milkman deliver milk, and sharing his talent by playing organ in the church.
When he was a young man he was united in marriage to Geraldine, this marriage ended in divorce. He left Nebraska where he lived in several different western states and worked as a dynamite man in the rock quarries in Nebraska and Missouri; he farmed and ranched in Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado and drove truck in Idaho.
While living in Washington, he met and married Nancy McMurphy and welcomed her four children. They were married from 1959 until 1968, when the marriage ended in divorce, he then married Margaret who had a son, this marriage also dissolved.
In 1976, he married was married to Lillian Campbell in Missouri. She brought seven children to this marriage. They were married until 2002, when she passed away.
Bud always enjoyed fishing, playing the piano and organ, playing cards, cribbage, solitaire, crossword puzzles and word search books. He spent time reading and being with friends and family and his special friends, Phyllis and Joe Dodd. He had a special love for putting puzzles together, gluing them together and making pictures that he gave away to the residents at Park Avenue Estates and Plum Creek Care Center.
Bud leaves to mourn children; Don (Karen) Harvey of Arizona; Steve Harvey of Nevada; Sherry (Jerry) Knox, Rhonda (Robin) Ross all of Washington; Ronnie (Penny) Campbell, Allen (Sandy) Campbell, Carol (Earl) Tronic and, Robin (Tim) Taylor all of Missouri; also surviving are grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; all of his siblings; wife, Lillian; three of Lillian’s children; Joe, Jessie and Rick Campbell all from Missouri.
It was Bud’s wishes that his body be cremated with a special private ceremony at a later date.
