Everett Eugene Davis

Everett Eugene Davis, 86, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community in Lexington. He was born October 24, 1927, in Gosper County, Nebraska, to Homer and Ida Fay (Alkire) Davis. Everett attended school in Gosper County. He was united in marriage to Loretta J. Hanson on February 12, 1956, in Lexington, Nebraska. Two children were blessed to this marriage; Larry Dean and Janet Louise. Everett spent quite a few years working for the City of Lexington and retired after 20 some years with the Nebraska Department of Roads. He loved gardening, planting many different types of fruit trees, baking, picking wild berries and making homemade jam. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather who had the patience of a Saint. Everett was a member of LexChristian Church in Lexington. Survivors include his wife of 57 years; Loretta of Lexington; one son, Larry Dean and wife Kathy Davis of Joplin, Missouri; daughter, Janet Louise Davis of Morrison, Colorado; four grandchildren; Steven and wife Mary Davis of Brady, Nebraska; Justin Davis of Missouri; Angela Kathleen Davis of Maxwell, Nebraska; and, Alexander Joseph Leal of Morrison, Colorado; two brothers, Homer Davis, Jr. of Elm Creek, Nebraska; Howard and wife Erlene Davis of Arapahoe, Nebraska; one sister, Georgia Ashmore of Lexington, Nebraska; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Everett was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Dorothy Weismann, Mary Adams and Ilene Falkinburg; two brothers-in-law, Ben Adams and Ralph Falkinburg; and one sister-in-law, Marianne Davis. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at LexChristian Church in Lexington with Pastor K.C. BeDunnah officiating. Burial will be in the Robb Cemetery south of Lexington. Visitation will be held Monday, November 11, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the LexChristian Church or Lexington Volunteer Fire Department.
