Edward Dean "Fast Eddie" Sarr

Edward Dean “Fast Eddie” Sarr, 73, of Elwood, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013, at his home in Elwood with his family by his side. He was born June 16, 1940, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Ray and Ola (Wilson) Sarr. Ed moved as a boy to Chicago, Illinois with his family. He worked in the steel mills in Chicago as a Hammer Repairman. Ed was united in marriage to Sharon Giboney on April 4, 1958, in Lexington. Four children were born to this union, Ed Jr., Tammy, Kim and Shannon. Sharon preceded him in death in 2000. He then married Peggy Flint on February 14, 2007, in Kearney, Nebraska. He welcomed Peggy’s children, Randy, Keith, Teri, Bobbie Jo, and Linda into the family. Ed traveled quite a little after Sharon passed away staying with relatives until he met Peggy on one of his trips home. The couple enjoyed going on gambling trips and being with family. Ed loved being with, and talking about, his grandchildren. He also enjoyed being near the water and swimming, stock car races, high school sporting events and telling tall tales! He had a great sense of humor and was a lot of fun. Ed will be so very missed by his large, loving family and friends. Survivors include his wife; Peggy Sarr of Elwood, Nebraska; son, Ed, Jr. and wife Michelle Sarr of Huntington Beach, California; three daughters, Tammy and husband John Woloshun of Placentia, California, Kim and husband Steve Lopez of Surprise, Arizona; and, Shannon Sarr of Kearney, Nebraska; two stepsons, Randy and wife Mick Nichols and Keith and wife Michelle Nichols all of Elm Creek, Nebraska; three stepdaughters, Teri and husband Chuck Martin of Elm Creek, Nebraska, Bobbie Jo and husband Bob Barto of Elm Creek, Nebraska, and, Linda and husband James Marshall of Elm Creek, Nebraska; one brother, Donald George Sarr of Elwood, Nebraska; three sisters; Donna and husband Willie Satterthwaite of Chicago, Illinois; Sue and husband Marvin Brand of Elwood, Nebraska; and, Geraldine and husband Mel Noble of Elwood, Nebraska; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; six brothers; one sister, and one grandson, Jason. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Michael Wolff officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Sarr Family for later designation. The family has honored Ed’s wishes that his body be cremated following the funeral service. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
