Bonnie R. Tomasek

Bonnie R.Tomasek, 78, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013, at Lexington Regional Health Center. Bonnie was born December 5, 1934, in Lexington, Nebraska, to William George and Minnie Orlena (Speak) Fellers, Sr. She attended elementary school at rural District #7 and then high school at Lexington High School. Bonnie was united in marriage to Don Tomasek on January 9, 1951, in Lexington at the United Methodist Church. The marriage was blessed with three children; Steve, Susan and David. Although Bonnie’s family was her greatest joy, she did work outside of the home selling Amway, cleaning District #22 rural school, and was custodian at the United Methodist Church for 18 years. Bonnie was one of the first Hospice volunteers in Lexington back in the early 1980’s. She loved playing bridge, shopping, having coffee with friends and keeping a beautiful home. Bonnie had a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor which sustained her and her family up until the end of her life. She will never be forgotten. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Don of Lexington; two sons; Steve (Pam) Tomasek of Lexington, Nebraska and David Tomasek of Lexington, Nebraska; one daughter; Susan Dannehl of Lexington, Nebraska; one brother; Ted (Candy) Fellers of Lincoln, Nebraska; one sister, Kay (Don) White of Gravois Mills, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Bev Fellers of Lexington, Nebraska; five grandchildren; Ty (Becky) Tomasek of Phoenix, Arizona; Tara Tomasek and special friend, Dustin Young of Lexington, Nebraska; Jud Dannehl of Omaha, Nebraska; Jessica (Steve) Bazis of Omaha, Nebraska; and, Kevin (Abby) Dannehl of Omaha, Nebraska; four great-grandsons; Anthony and Benjamin Rodriguez of Lexington, Nebraska; and, Maxwell and Miles Tomasek of Phoeniz, Arizona; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family wishes to include the nursing staff, cooking staff, John Ford, M.D., and staff of Lexington Regional Health Center as part of their family and wishes to extend a heartfelt Thank You for her excellent care. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Norma Hock and Betty Stuckey; and two brothers, Bill and Bobby Fellers. Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, October 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Dr. Dyton Owen officiating. Burial will be held prior at 9:30 a.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department, Lexington Community Foundation, or the Donor’s Choice.
