Carolyn Gail “Carol” Harris, 71, of Doniphan, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska. She was born June 29, 1942, in Lexington, Nebraska. Carol attended school in Lexington where she graduated from Lexington High School. She moved away shortly after graduation and lived in various towns until settling in Doniphan. Carol worked as a cook most of her career, most recently at Bosselman’s in Wood River and Tommy’s Family Restaurant in Grand Island. Her health forced her to retire. Carol was known for her quick smile and was always ready to talk to anyone about anything. She will be so very missed. She is survived by her daughter, Raschelle (J.B.) Ross of Broken Bow, Nebraska; one granddaughter, Heather, and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, David Hopkins of Nashville, Tennessee; Mike (Phyla) Hopkins of Exeter, Nebraska; Kevin (Deb) Hopkins of San Angelo, Texas; two sisters, Lois Goehner of Grand Island, Nebraska; and, Lynnette Gomez of Doniphan, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather; one son, Roland Slama; one brother, Richard; and, four sisters, Janet, Elaine, Barb and Karen. Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 26, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery between Lexington and Cozad on the old Cozad Highway. Visitation will be held the day of the service form 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation.
