Connie Marie Young, 63, of Holdrege, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at BryanLGH East Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska following a battle with Guillaian-Barre Syndrome.
She was born March 21, 1945, at Lexington, Nebraska to Lloyd and Jessie (Love) Meyer.
Connie graduated from high school in Evans, Colorado with the class of 1965. She met James Colburn, Sr. and three children were blessed to this union. In 1971, she married Steve Young and two children were blessed to this union.
Connie was always busy sewing. One of her favorite things to sew and collect were, “Raggedy Ann and Andy’s”. She loved to spend time with her grandkids and each one of them have a blanket or something she lovingly made for them. Connie’s nickname by her grandchildren was, “Grandma Heart” because she called each and every one of them, “sweetheart”.
Connie was always a very active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where she served as Madam President in Lexington and was also Madam Secretary in Holdrege until she became ill in November of 2007.
She worked and volunteered for years for Mid-Nebraska Community Action where she was instrumental in starting many of their programs. Connie always was there to point people in the right direction.

Chris Young of Hartford, Connecticut
Stephanie Young (Rigoberto Chavez) of Lexington, Ne.
Stepchildren: Catherine (Allen) Brush of North Bend, Nebraska; James (Holly) Colburn, Jr. of Pensacola, Florida; Richard (Valee) Colburn of Lexington, Oklahoma.
One sister: Mary Ann (David) Kline of Colorado Springs, Colorado
Connie’s Significant Other: David Ogg of Holdrege, Nebraska
Twenty-one grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two nieces, two nephews and many, many friends.
Connie was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, many aunts and uncles; husband, James F. Colburn, Sr.;
stepson, William H. Colburn and granddaughter, Morgann Brush.
Services will be Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor Victor Diaz officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 16, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.
Memorials are kindly suggested to the Family for later designation.
