Teresa Maciel Lara, 88, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington. She was born September 7, 1925, in Los Reyes, Michoacan, Mexico, to Geromino Maciel and Celerina Lara. She was united in marriage to Jose Pedro Linarez. He preceded her in death. Teresa immigrated to the United States in 1980, to California. In 1993, she moved to Lexington to be near her family. While in Lexington, Teresa loved attending church, singing, cooking, crafting, making beautiful pillows for family and friends, and piñatas. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and taking care of her family. She was a very hard-worker and very loving in her own way. She will be truly missed. Teresa is survived by her children; Jorge Linarez of Columbus, Nebraska; Arturo (Carol) Linarez of Pacific Junction, Iowa; Socorro Linarez of Oregon; Maria L. (Rafael) Barocio of Lexington, Nebraska; and, Maria D. Martinez of Oregon; sister, Ofelia Maciel of Encanada, Mexico; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jose Pedro Linarez; son, Carlos Linarez; sister, Carmen; and, brother, Leonel Maciel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Neal Nollette officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. A Rosary will be recited informally during that time by family friends. Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
