Nanett Jo Holtz, 39, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, following a battle with uterine cancer.
She was born March 29, 1974, in Kearney, Nebraska. She was lovingly adopted by her parents, Rodney and Marcia (Peterson) Holtz.
Nanett was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington in April of 1974, and confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood. She graduated from Elwood High School with the class of 1992. She then went onto further her education at Wayne State College. She graduated from college in 1996, with a BA in Sociology. Upon completing college she returned to Lexington and went to work for Tri-County Hospital, now Lexington Regional Health Center, in the Housekeeping department.
Nanett absolutely loved her friends from work, playing Farmville on Facebook, Mickey Mouse, professional football, basketball and baseball; and, of course, her Nebraska Cornhuskers. She was very bright and intelligent and was always picked first for trivia games and knew all the answers on Jeopardy. She was a joy to her family and co-workers and will be so missed.
She is survived by her parents; Rod & Marcia Holtz of Lexington, NE; her brother, Curtis Holtz and niece, Olivia Nicole of Lake Stevens, WA; maternal grandmother, Arlene Peterson of Kearney, Nebraska; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members as well as her hospital family.
Nanett was preceded in death by a sister, Nicole Holtz; paternal grandparents, Walter & Agnes Holtz, and maternal grandpa, Harold Peterson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner officiating.
Burial will be held Monday, May 20, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Westlawn Memorial Park in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to Dawson County Relay for Life or Trinity Lutheran Church.
