Pauline Marie Dodson, 100, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington.
She was born August 17, 1912, in Cambridge, Nebraska, to Ray William and Hazel Pearle (Carter) Coleman. She was a 1931 graduate of Cambridge High School. Pauline lived in the Cambridge area until moving to Lexington in 1947. In 1934, she was united in marriage to Earle Collicott. Two daughters were blessed to this marriage, Shirley and Bonnie. On June 4, 1978, she married Delmar Dodson. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1990.
Pauline owned and operated the Avilon Beauty Shop for 30 years in Lexington, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lexington, as well as past president of the Soroptimist Club and Eagles Auxiliary.
Pauline’s interests were many; she enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing and was known to enjoy a bit of gambling.
Pauline is survived by one daughter; Shirley (Dan) Wolfe of Johnson Lake, Nebraska; two step-daughters, Beverly Thompson of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, and Jackie Ewald of Kansas; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delmar; daughter, Bonnie (Maloley) Neff; brother, John Coleman; sister, Verna Estergard; stepdaughter, Bonnie DeFruiter; granddaughter, Amy; and, grandson-in-law, Jim Powers.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Tess Hufford officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 3, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
