Carol Ann Linden

Carol Ann Linden, 69, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Lexington Regional Health Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 20, 1944, in St. Francis, Kansas, to Garnet Vinton and Bessie Pearl (Baker) Gilmore. Carol graduated from Osborne High School with the class of 1962, in Osborne, Kansas. Following graduation she attended the Brown-Mackie School of Business in Salina, Kansas. She worked as a secretary for Frank Wheeler during high school. She then went to work for Safeway. Carol moved to Lexington in 1974. She was united in marriage to Roger Linden on March 7, 1975, in Lexington at the First Christian Church. Carol brought her son from a previous marriage, Vincent Keith to this union. The marriage was then blessed with three more sons, Jonathan, Jeffery & Jerold. When Carol moved to Lexington she was employed by Hennek’s, the Lexington Public School system in Food Service, and at the time of her death was employed by South Central Special Services in Cozad. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, where she was active in the church choir and taugh Sunday school. She also volunteered for the Volunteer Network as well as the Lexington United Way. Carol was always active in the P.T.A. when her sons were young. She was a thoughtful person who cared about everybody. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her large extended family. She loved taking pictures, collecting rocks, baking, canning, crafting, sewing doll clothes and gardening. She will be so very missed by her loving family as well as her many friends. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Roger Linden of Lexington, Nebraska; four sons, Vincent Keith Moody of Lexington, Nebraska; Jonathan (Karen) Linden of Sidney, Nebraska; Jeffery (Heather) Linden of Hershey, Nebraska; and, Jerold Linden of Bertrand, Nebraska; one brother, Ray Gilmore of Ellis, Kansas; two sisters, Jan Scott of Ellis, Kansas, and Glenda (Sam) Green of Woodson, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren, Jason, Steven, Amber, Michael, Ashley, Alex, Maiya, Rylie, Kyler, Katelyn, Payton, Jenny, Aiden, Keegan, Lucas, and Kallie; eight great-grandchildren, Jaeden, Isaiaha, Madison, Kylie, Keaton, Kaeden, Kaiah, & Kiki; her beloved canine daughters, Annie, Mollie & Chewie; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathy Lyons. Funeral Services will be Friday, April 26, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Lexington with Pastor Rex Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
