Jean G. Apgar, 83, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Jean was born November 8, 1929, in Amherst, Nebraska, to Fred and Edna A. (Freeze) Holliday. She moved with her family to Lexington when she was 8 years old. She attended rural school near Lexington and then Lexington High School.
She was united in marriage to Robert K. Warner on September 13, 1946, three children were blessed to this marriage; Charles, Robert and Sherry. Bob died when he was 21 years old. Jean was pregnant with Sherry at the time of Bob’s death. She then was married to Edward “Joe” Apgar on September 17, 1951, he died February 11, 1983.
Jean was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, being outdoors, gardening, and all board games. She will be so very missed.
Survivors include her children; two sons, Charles (Denise) Warner of Canyon, Texas; Bob (June) Warner of Lexington, Nebraska; daughter, Sherry (Ken) Carlyle of Lexington, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Holliday of Lexington, Nebraska; Jess Holliday of San Antonio, Texas; David Holliday of Winnebago, Minnesota; sisters, Myrl Kneeland of Lexington, Nebraska; Mardel Griffis of Albuquerque, New Mexico; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jean was preceded in death besides by her husbands, by her parents; and one sister, Judy Eaton.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Evangelist Mike Millican officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lexington.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral home in Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association Dawson County Relay for Life.
