Clara Geiger, 105, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Park Avenue Estates in Lexington.
She was born December 18, 1902, at Utica, Nebraska, to Philip and Margaret (Noel) Geiger. Her family moved to Dawson County when she was four years old.
She graduated from St. Ursula’s Academy at York, Nebraska in 1925, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska in 1931.
Miss Geiger taught in rural and city schools for a number of years. After she retired, volunteer work became her chief interest. She volunteered 50+ years for the American Red Cross.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters and two brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Paul Colling officiating.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2008, from 4-6 p.m. with Christian Wake Service at 6:00 p.m. all at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery at Lexington.
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross Disaster Fund or the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department.
