Lucille Snyder Ridder, 96, of Callaway, Nebraska, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Good Samaritan Center in Callaway.
She was born August 23, 1911, in rural Kirksville, Missouri, to Lee and Ada (Keller) Snyder.
The Family moved to Cozad, Nebraska, about 1914. Lucille attended school in Cozad about four years. She moved with her family to Callaway in 1920, and graduated from Callaway High School with the class of 1929. Lucille taught school for three years in District 3 Delight School west of Callaway.
She was united in marriage to Alvis Ridder on June 15, 1932, at Callaway. Lucille assisted Alvis in their farming and ranching business. They resided on their farms until 1968 when they built a home in Callaway and retired there. She enjoyed family get-togethers, attending her children’s and grandchildrens’ activities and visiting with friends.
Lucille was a member of St. Boniface Altar Society and assisted in helping at the church. She taught early CCD classes for several years. In 2000, she received an Apostolic Blessing from the Pope for her fifty years of support and aid to the Benedictines of Schuyler, Nebraska, and their missions. She was an active member of Sorosis and Callaway Women’s Club and helped with the blood mobile as Canteen Chairman.
She was an avid golfer, having a hole-in-one at the Broken Bow Golf Course. Lucille loved square dancing, her bridge clubs and other social events. She will be greatly missed.
Lucille was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway, Nebraska.

Two daughters-in-law: Jaynanne Ridder of Lake Barrington, Illinois
Barb Ridder of Lincoln, Nebraska
One sister-in-law: Irene Snyder of Callaway, Nebraska
Sixteen grandchildren, thirty one great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvis in 1997; three daughters, Helen, Elaine and Carolyn; two sons, Harold and Charles; two granddaughters, Therese and Joan; three brothers, Claude, Charles and Wayne; one sister, Gladys Weaver; daughter-in-law Frances Ridder; and sister-in-law Helen Snyder.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 7, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway, Nebraska, with Reverend Todd Philipsen, officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway.
Christian Wake Services will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway, Nebraska.
