Marjorie Jean Stewart, 87, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Elwood Care Center in Elwood. Marjorie was born November 14, 1925, in Lexington to William and Hazel (McCall) Britton. She spent her entire life in Lexington. She graduated from Lexington High School. Marjorie was united in marriage to Stanley Stewart on May 27, 1946. The marriage was blessed with three children, Lynda, Peggy and John. Marjorie was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, active in the community as a Girl/Boy Scout leader and former president of the Tri-County Hospital Auxiliary and Lakeside Country Club Women’s Golf Association. She was also active in Studio 21, and belonged to several bridge groups. Marjorie is survived by one son, John Stewart of Lexington, Nebraska; two daughters, Lynda (Richard) Thoreen of Omaha, Nebraska, and Peggy (Eugene) Munstermann of Villisca, Iowa; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stan; parents, and two brothers, William Britton, Jr. and Chester (Chet) Britton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Neal Nollette officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Cemetery at Lexington. Wake Service will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
