Margaret M. Munoz, 85, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012, at Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington. She was born January 25, 1927, in Cozad, Nebraska to Genaro and Filiverta (Godinez) Munoz. Margaret attended school in Lexington. Margaret’s working career began by working in the fields for nearly 20 years and feeding the people of Lexington! She worked as a cook at Parkway, The Den, the Tasty Inn, and Minuteman Café. She was a faithful member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and volunteered her time for the church. She also volunteered and enjoyed spending time at the Lexington Grand Generation Center and the Hispanic Awareness Center. Margaret was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Margaret never married, but her nieces and nephews were the light of her life. At times she was a fill-in mother, grandmother, aunt and trusted friend and confidant. She loved cooking, baking, Nebraska football, classical music, word puzzles, and bingo. Margaret will be so very missed by her loving family. Margaret is survived by a brother; Genaro “Sharkie” and wife Esther Munoz of Greeley, Colorado; sister, Angie and husband Joe Hernandez of Lexington, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Helen and husband Isabel Ramirez of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Herb Mettenbrink of Grand Island, Nebraska; many special nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Salvador, Louie & Jim and two sisters, Victoria Munoz and Mary Mettenbrink. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 14, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Neal Nollette officiating. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 13, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to St. Ann’s Catholic Church or Lexington Grand Generation Center. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangement.
