Homer Lloyd Parks, 83, of Callaway, died January 28, 2008, at Callaway District Hospital.
He was born on May 3, 1924, at Page, Nebraska, to Harold and Minnie (Park) Parks.
Homer was born and raised in Page, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Maxine Arrants on September 22, 1944, at Bridgeport, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: George, Elsie, and Katherine.
Homer and Maxine lived throughout the Sandhills in many different places. He had various jobs working for ranchers and being a scale mechanic for Olson brothers in Scottsbluff at one time. When Homer retired, they moved to Callaway to be closer to family. Homer and Maxine owned and operated a Day Care up until his death.
He enjoyed hunting and especially finding arrowheads. Homer was a very good “ Handy Man.” But, most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. He was grandpa to many children.
Homer will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He was a member of the Callaway Community Church.

Bessie Hubbard of Bayard, Nebraska
Ethel Arrants of Kearney, Nebraska
Gladys Arrants of Alliance, Nebraksa
One son-in-law: Charles Trumbull of Callaway, Nebraska
Seven grandchildren: Kent and his wife Molly Trumbull, Dan and his wife Jolleen Trumbull, and Willy Trumbull all of Callaway, Nebraska, Katrina Chu of Bellevue, Washington, Erica Chu of Chicago, Illinios, Sara and husband Adam Brady of Wood River, Nebraska, and Winston Chu of Ogallala, Nebraska.
Five great-grandchildren.

Homer was preceded in death by his parents, one son George, one daughter Elsie, three brothers Merwin, Wayne, Roberts, and three brother- in-laws John Arrants, Bobby Arrants, and Harold Hubbard.
Services will be held Friday, February 1, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Callaway Community Church, in Callaway, with Pastor Dean Haidle, officiating.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, in Callaway.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 31, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. at Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway, Nebraska.
