William James Dunford

William James “Willie” Dunford, 62, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Monday, January 7, 2008, at his home in Lexington. He was born July 14, 1945, at Peckham, England, southeast of London, to William and Florrie Dunford. Willie came to the United States in 1978, and lived in Anacortes, Washington. He married Rebecca Moe and to this union one child was born, Shevon Avril. They were divorced and Willie later moved to Lexington. He went to work for Don Scharf at Lexington Masonry in 1990, and worked there until his health forced him to retire in 2000. He continued to be a big part of the Scharf family and enjoyed many family reunions and being a big part of the kid’s and grandkids’ lives. Willie liked playing cards with friends, the Seattle Seahawks, his English soccer, and spending time with his many friends. He will be missed by so many. He is survived by his daughter: Shevon of Anacortes, Washington One brother: Chris Dunford of Dagenham, England Six sisters: Betty Bennett; Florrie (Mickey) Dilsworth; Sally (Alan) Gulliver; Sondra (Steve) Marsden all of Dagenham, England; and Pam (Brian) Tresident of San Diego, California and many nieces and nephews. Special Friends: Alan and Linda Tribe and families of England Additional survivors are his Lexington family: Don and Lee Scharf; Stu and Tammy Knauss, Jake and McKenzi; Kevin and Trina Brandt, Tanner, Kaden, Lucas, and Madi; Tracy Brock, Alex, Hana and Simon and Justin and Megan Bullis, Maci and Jack and many friends. Willie was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Jim Bennett. Willie’s wishes were to be cremated and his cremains shipped to his family in England. A local Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 14, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend John Craig officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Donor’s Choice. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
