Shirley Nadine Kolbo

Shirley Nadine Kolbo, 84, of Callaway, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Society in Callaway. Shirley was born August 15, 1928, in Callaway, Nebraska to Chris and Blanche (Williamson) Roth. She graduated in 1946 from Callaway high School. Shirley was married to the love of her life, Raymond L. Kolbo on May 27, 1951, at Callaway E.U.B. Church. They cherished 61 years together, all of them residing in Callaway, except for four years living in Manhattan, Kansas and Fremont, Nebraska. Raymond and Shirley were inseparable and devoted to each other. Family and farming were among her greatest joys. Shirley enjoyed attending her family’s activities and working outdoors. A highlight she treasured was driving a school bus route plus an activity bus. She enjoyed interacting with the students and they in turn kept her young. She was a member of Callaway United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband: Raymond Kolbo of Callaway, Nebraska Children: Sandra (Jim) Liewer of Butte, NE; Jackie (Dan) Keyser of Sutherland, NE; and Jim (Jean) Kolbo of Kearney, NE. Grandchildren: Jeanne (Cory) Davis of Bonesteel, SD; Tom Liewer & Joe Liewer of Butte, NE; Pamela (Todd) Dummer of Bonesteel, SD; Debra Liewer of Atkinson, NE; Douglas Liewer of Columbus, NE; Tyler Keyser of Cambridge, MA; Traci Keyser of Hays, KS; Alex (Machelle) Kolbo of Lincoln, NE; Josh Kolbo of Seville, Spain; Philip Kolbo of Omaha, NE; Danny & Jessie Kolbo of Kearney, NE; great-grandchildren; Cullen Davis and Roland James Dummer; brother; Charlie Roth of Deshler, NE; brother-in-law, Sid (Susan) Kolbo of Grand Island, NE; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Chris & Blanche Roth; sister-in-law, Ardis Roth, and brother-in-law, Allan D. Kolbo. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Callaway, Nebraska with Reverend Roger Gillming and Pastor Dean Haidle officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway. Visitation will be held Friday, October 12, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at the Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway.
