Elizabeth Joy “Beth” Pfeiffer, 83, of Lexington, Nebraska, died at her home, Tuesday, December 11, 2007.
She was born June 10, 1924, at Elwood, Nebraska, to Earl and Carolina (Harms) Salisbury.
Beth spent her entire life in the Elwood and Lexington areas. She graduated from Elwood High School with the class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Floyd Pfeiffer on December 8, 1945, at Norton, Kansas. Two children were blessed to this union; Yolonda and Doug.
Beth and Floyd owned and operated Pfeiffer’s Liquor Store in Lexington for many years and Beth was also a familiar face in several area businesses.
Beth so loved having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit. She loved watching game shows, yard ornaments were something she enjoyed displaying and she also enjoyed music. She never knew a stranger and loved going to Walmart and visiting with folks who were shopping. Beth always wore a smile and will be so very missed.
She was a past member of the Methodist Church and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include one daughter: Lona and Dean Jensen of Cozad, Nebraska
Four grandchildren: Cristy (Bill) Vollenweider of Cozad, Nebraska
Corey (Gina) Jensen of Cozad, Nebraska
Chad Pfeiffer of Johnson Lake, Nebraska
Cody Pfeiffer of Johnson Lake, Nebraska
Eight great-grandchildren.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd in 2001; son, Doug in 1999; grandson, Shane; two sisters and three brothers.
There will be no visitation as it was Beth’s wishes her body be cremated.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 14, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Royce and Sharon Corder, Lay Ministers officiating.
Inurnment will be held prior to the Memorial Service at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.
