Kenneth Frank Hagan

Kenneth Frank Hagan, 87, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Saturday, September 15, 2012, at his home in Lexington. Kenneth was born to Frank and Cora (Wilson) Hagan on May 19, 1925, in Lexington, Nebraska. He lived and worked in Lexington his entire life. He was one of 25 children. On November 13, 1944 Kenny was drafted into the Army and served in Germany and France during WWII. He married the love of his life, Norma Brisco on December 9, 1951. To this union one son, Steven, was born. Kenny and Norma managed the White Island Café, he bartended at Joe’s Bar and Tavern and for 31 years worked at Lexington COOP, until his retirement. He was known for his smile and for being a fun and friendly guy who knew everyone. Kenny enjoyed riding around the countryside checking on all the crops, gardening, shopping and most of all, spending time with his family. He was especially proud of his Irish heritage. He is survived by his wife Norma, his son Steven (Rochelle) Hagan of Rochester MN; his granddaughter, Amanda (Dain) Kavars of Muncie, IN; his grandson, Kent (Heidi Mueske) Hagan of Rochester, MN; and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Emmalyn Kavars of Muncie, IN, and Gavin Hagan of Rochester, MN. He is also survived by his brothers, Bob (Janice) Hagan of Lexington, NE; Clifford (Lois) Hagan of Bertrand, NE; sisters, Verla (Roy) Whidby of Apple Valley, CA;, and Velma (Bill) Blythe of Brownwood, TX; along with nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; twenty siblings and other nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Evangelical Free Church in Lexington with Pastor Duane Russell officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department or the Donor’s Choice. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
