Duaine Schoneman

Duaine W. Schoneman, 78, of Lexington, Nebraska died on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Park Avenue Estates in Lexington. He was born on September 9, 1933 in Jeffers, Minnesota to William and Verna (Quade) Schoneman. He graduated from Bertha High School in 1951. Duaine was united in marriage to Ollie Hazel Morgan on November 11, 1951 in Winnebago, Minnesota. Five children were blessed to this union: Kelly, Debra, Karla, Tim and Scott. Duaine worked for a canning company and farmed in Minnesota until moving to Lexington in 1960. He later worked for Canada Trucking, road construction, International Transport and partnered with Bud Small Livestock Transportation, until opening C&S Truck and Salvage in 1979. He also was a driver for Platte Valley Auto of Lexington, after retiring in 2000. Duaine was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lexington. His hobbies included: working, hunting Deer, Elk and Rattlesnake and going to coffee with friends. Survivors include his wife: Ollie Schoneman of Lexington, Nebraska; daughters, Kelly and husband Kevin Swanson of Overton, Nebraska, Debra and husband Tom Miller of Eustis, Nebraska, Karla and husband Mike Denker of Lexington, Nebraska; Sons, Tim and wife Kim Schoneman of Lexington, Nebraska, Scott and wife Angie Schoneman of Holdrege, Nebraska; one sister, Linda and husband Duane Peterson of Eagle Bend, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Arlan and one sister, Cleone. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 23, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, with Rev. Tess Hufford officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation as the family is honoring Duaine’s wish to be cremated. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the Lexington Regional Health Center Hospice Program.
