June 9, 1925 — July 16, 2012

June Taylor, 87, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Monday, July 16, 2012, at Lexington Regional Medical Center. She was born June 9, 1925, in Headrick, Oklahoma to Leonard and Lela (Ricks) Knox. She was a 1943 graduate of Warren High School in Warren, Oklahoma. June was united in marriage to Dale Taylor on June 3, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas. Two children were blessed to this marriage, Ron and Janet. In 1946, Dale and June settled in Lexington. June worked for 15 years in the Dawson County Clerk’s office and 5 years for the Dawson County Weed District, retiring in 1988. June was a member of Lexington Christian Church as well as Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid golfer in her younger years and also enjoyed crafting, traveling and visiting. She was such a kind-hearted person and never, ever knew a stranger. She will be so very missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include her daughter: Janet and husband Chuck Zimmerman of Beatrice, Nebraska Two grandchildren: Mandi (Nick) Saathoff of Beatrice, Nebraska Ryan Zimmerman of Lincoln, Nebraska One great-granddaughter: Alexis of Beatrice, Nebraska One step-great-granddaughter: Rylie Saathoff of Beatrice, Nebraska Special Niece: Nelda (Donnie) Gray of Kingston, Oklahoma Special Neighbors: Dean and Pam Brand of Lexington, Nebraska She is also survived by extended family and many friends. June was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale in 2006; one son, Ron; two brothers, C.J. and Roy Knox and one sister, Vesta Wilcox. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Lexington Christian Church with Pastor K.C. BeDunnah officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to Lexington Christian Church or the Donor’s Choice.
