Howard “Levern” Snider, 55, of Overton, Nebraska, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at his home in Overton, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 22, 1956, in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Howard and Ida Mae (Swisher) Snider. The family moved to Overton in 1969. Levern spent his working years at alfalfa mills, working construction and feedlots. His health forced him to retire. Levern loved to fish, hunt, trap, raise animals, such as chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigeons, and he loved all dogs. Levern is survived by three sisters: Ruth (Jim) Bebb of Overton, NE Nancy (Ron) Borgmann of Bertrand, NE Wanda Snider of Overton, NE Four nieces: Christina Frazey, Mandy (Kevin) Converse, Phoebe Harriman and Brandie Borgmann. Five nephews: Evan (Annie) Bebb, Corey Snider and special friend Courtney Schmuecker, Justin Snider, Brice Borgmann and Darin (Kelly) Snider. Thirteen great nieces and nephews: Tanner, Rebecca, Bradly & Lily Bebb; Nicholas & Savannah Snider; Isabelle & Trevor Borgmann; Sabrina, Garrett, Zachary & Kaylee Converse; Abrie Schmuecker. Three children: Jeramy, Brooklyn (Robert) Walker of Oconto, NE; Lacey Fisher of Kearney, NE, and one grandson, Thomas Jackson. Levern was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, Howard & Ida Mae Snider; one nephew, Aaron Snider; one great-nephew, Adrian Harriman; aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Lexington with Pastor Rex Adams officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Purdum Cemetery at Purdum, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday, April 16, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
