Michelle R. Sherman, MS, LIMHP, 42, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Overton, Nebraska, died Tuesday, January 31, at University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Michelle was born July 25, 1969, in Kearney to Frank and RoseMary (O’Brien) Sherman. She attended Overton Public School and graduated with the class of 1987.
In 1992, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Peru State College. In 1997, she received her Master’s of Science degree at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska.
Michelle had a passion for helping others and did so as a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner. She developed a private mental health practice in Omaha and enjoyed working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
You could always find Michelle outdoors whether it be gardening and planting flowers, fishing or enjoying the fresh air on a motorcycle. She shared a passion for cars and guns with her father and brother. But her greatest love was spending time and doing things with her daughter and family.
Survivors include daughter: Clare Davidson-Sherman of Omaha, Nebraska.
Father: Frank Sherman of Overton, Nebraska.
Sister: Melinda and husband Steve Nelson of St. Edward, Nebraska.
Brother: Matthew and wife Cindy Sherman of Greeley, Colorado.
Niece & Nephew: Wyatt and Myranda Nelson of St. Edward, Nebraska.
Friend: Nicole Bergerson of Omaha, Nebraska.
Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, RoseMary Sherman in 2009.
Funeral Services will be Monday, February 6, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Gary Main, officiating.
Burial will be in the Overton Cemetery in Overton, Nebraska.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 5, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, Nebraska.
Memorial Service will be Thursday, February 9, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. at the Autism Center of Nebraska’s Great Room, 9012 Q Street Omaha, Nebraska 68127.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for her daughter, Clare.
