Diane C. Evans, 54, of Lexington, Nebraska, went home to be with Jesus Monday, January 16, 2012, at the Lexington Regional Medical Center in Lexington following a courageous fight with cancer.
She was born December 14, 1957, at Denver, Colorado to Darrel E. “Dick” and Eileen (Norbeck) Moore.
Diane moved to Nebraska as a baby with her family to Callaway. They then moved to the Sumner/Eddyville area where she attended school. She then moved to Exeter, Nebraska for a time, after that she moved to Louisville, Colorado, where she met Luke Evans. The couple married and were blessed with one son, James. The couple moved to Oregon and later divorced. Diane and James moved to Nebraska, settling in Lexington, near Diane’s mom.
Diane transferred from the Walmart store in Colorado to the Walmart store in Lexington. She worked in the Pharmacy and Vision Departments. Diane was one of those people who always had a smile on her face and happy to meet and greet her customers. She never knew a stranger. Diane loved all sports, especially her beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers, softball, volleyball and enjoyed decorating her home. She adored her nieces and nephews who lovingly called her “Aunt DD”. She will be so missed.

Three sisters: Linda (Bob) Kroon of Longmont, Colorado
Pam (Ron) Stryker of Eddyville, Nebraska
Teresa Kitzing of Cozad, Nebraska
Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, co-workers and friends.
Diane was preceded in death by her father and brother, Jimmy.
Funeral Services will be Friday, January 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington, Nebraska with Evangelist Mike Millican officiating.
Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery at Sumner, Nebraska with Pastor Ken Hutson conducting the graveside service.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 19, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.
