John H. Schram, 59, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at his home in Lexington, following a courageous bout with cancer.
He was born May 6, 1952, at Kearney, Nebraska to Marion Henry and Alice Faye(Ogg) Schram.
John attended country school in Buffalo County and graduated from Pleasanton High School with the class of 1970. While in country school and high school, John helped out at the Lexington Livestock Market, working for Melvin Huss. He was united in marriage to Peggy Riebschlager on June 24, 1972, in Pleasanton, Nebraska. Four children were blessed to this marriage; Scott, Karen, Angela & Kye.
To say that John loved to fish is an understatement! He spent most of his free time on the lake, fishing in fishing tournaments, taking his children and grandchildren fishing and instilling in them the love of the sport. He also enjoyed hunting, spoiling his seven grandchildren, playing cards, taking drives around the lake, telling stories and sharing his wonderful sense of humor. John and Peggy spent hours making homemade fishing weights, jigs and lures. His legacy will live on in his children, grandchildren, his many friends and all who loved him.
John was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
