Virginia Elaine Laux

March 12, 1925 — November 27, 2011

Virginia Elaine (Patton) Laux, 86, of Franklin, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Rose Lane Home in Loup City, Nebraska. Virginia was born March 13, 1925 on the family farm northeast of Franklin to John and Elsie (James) Patton. She attended grade school at District #61, Spring Valley 9-10 grades and then graduated from Franklin High School with the class of 1942. She took normal training in high school and taught for one year at District #34 north of Franklin. On June 23, 1943 Virginia married Roy Laux at Smith Center, Kansas. They lived on the farm on U.S. Highway 4 until 1974 at which time they moved to the farm north of Macon. This union was blessed with three children; Ronald, Warren & Leann. Virginia was a devoted helpmate to her husband, and a loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, master pie baker, welcoming hostess and a very caring person. Virginia accepted Christ as her personal Savior in response to an invitation during special services at the Assembly of God Church in Riverton, Nebraska. She leaves to treasure her memory sons Ron and wife Roz Laux of Lexington, Nebraska; Warren and wife Neysa Laux of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and daughter, Leann and husband Richard Woollen of Ord, Nebraska. Thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Bessie McInturf of Alma, Nebraska. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; siblings, Johnny Patton, Gilbert Patton, Jessie Berg, Nellie Meyer, Marjorie Bergman, Guy Patton and grandson, Trevor Laux. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 2, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Christian Fellowship Evangelical Free Church in Franklin, Nebraska with Reverend Dave Johnson and Reverend Nancy Leonard officiating. Burial will be in the Macon Union Cemetery at Macon, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. Memorials, in lieu of flowers please, are suggested to the Franklin Senior Center or the Donor’s Choice.
