Dee Dae Harris, 67, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died Monday, September 5, 2011, at BryanLGH Medical Center West in Lincoln.
He was born June 6, 1944, at Lexington, Nebraska to W.O. and Loretta (Bybee) Harris and was named after the victory, on the same date, in WWII.
Dee attended Callaway high school where he met his future wife, Beverly Ann Pitkin. After 4 years in the Navy Dee and Bev married.
He was employed by Salem Trucking out of Lincoln until he retired several years ago. He enjoyed his long-neck Budweiser’s, cigarette smoking, telling jokes and stories; collecting coins, guns and watching sports on TV.

Two brothers: Lee Harris of Lincoln, Nebraska
Jon (Kerri) Harris of Estes Park, Colorado
Two sisters: Orpha (Ron) McVicker of Denver, Colorado
Rita Light of McCool Junction, Nebraska
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dee was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents, Bill and Loretta Harris, his youngest brother, Chuck and his sister-in-law, Lavonne Harris.
The Family granted Dee’s wishes that his body be cremated.
A Memorial Graveside will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Callaway, Nebraska with Reverend Roger Gillming officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Harris Family.
