Edith Marie Schuckman, 89, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington. She was born December 23, 1921, in Pierce County, Nebraska to John and Anna (Uhing) Wortman. Edith attended country school at Neligh, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Stanley Snodgrass in 1942 at Plainview, Nebraska. Three children were born to this marriage; Ron, Alan and Marjean. She was then united in marriage to Ed Schuckman in 1974 at Santa Rosa, New Mexico and welcomed Ed’s two sons into the family, Byron and Barry. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church as well as the Altar Society. She enjoyed dancing, flowers, and visiting with and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include two sons: Ron Snodgrass of Topeka, Kansas Alan and wife Shannon Snodgrass of Gilbert, Arizona One daughter: Marjean Johnson of Tucson, Arizona Two stepsons: Byron Schuckman of Lexington, Nebraska Barry and wife Dianne Schuckman of Conway, Arkansas One sister: Marcella Wies of Omaha, Nebraska Two sisters-in-law: Margaret Wortman of Lexington, Nebraska Marilyn Wortman of Aurora, Nebraska Eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; seven brothers, Leonard, Kenneth, Richard, Edward, Henry, Leo and John and one sister, Adeline Thompson. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Paul Colling officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, July 11, 2011, from 4-6 p.m. with Wake to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Donor’s Choice.
