Cathern Lorene Nevada (Clark) Wood

Cathern Lorene Nevada (Clark) Wood, 81, of Mason City, Nebraska, died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow, Nebraska. She was born April 7, 1930 at Culloden, West Virginia to Newton Ivory and Garnet (Beckett) Clark. Cathern attended school at Lexington and during her working years she worked at Sperry New Holland, the Lexington Hospital and the Cozad Hospital. Cathern was united in marriage to Lester I. Wood on November 20, 1971, at Lexington. The couple moved to Mason City in the late 1990’s. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, decorating her home, baking, music, fishing and camping. She was a wonderful mother who was always there for her children and grandchildren. Her beloved dog, Penny was also a special part of her life. She will be very missed. Cathern is survived by her husband: Lester I. Wood of Broken Bow, Nebraska Other survivors include three daughters: Rita (Paul) Leibhart of Overton, Nebraska Vicky (Chuck) Flint of Overton, Nebraska Barbara (Keith) Pickering of Kentucky Two sons: Jerald (Stacia) Wood of California Jacky (Tammy) Ward of Colorado Four Half-brothers: John Beckett and Gerald Beckett of West Virginia; Walter Beckett of California and Richard Clark of North Platte, Nebraska Two Half-sisters: Patricia McMahon of Hemingford, Nebraska Wanda Clark of Oklahoma Nineteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren Cathern was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David; one great-granddaughter, Sara and one half-brother Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Berean Bible Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor Glenn Johnson officiating Burial will be in the Overton Cemetery at Overton, Nebraska Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
