Luis Manuel "Wicho" Arredondo

Luis Manuel “Wicho” Arredondo, 17, of Overton, Nebraska, died Monday, May 9, 2011, at his home south of Overton. Luis was born June 23, 1993, in Indio, California to Ruben and Rosa Maria (Nunez) Arredondo. He moved with his family as a small boy to Lexington and then to Overton. Luis was a sophomore at Overton High School where he was active in football, wrestling, basketball and track. He was an active student with many friends and you never saw him without a smile on his face. Luis loved little kids, animals, horses, fishing, spending time with his friends, music, dancing and when he walked in to a room his smile lit up that room. He was a kind boy who loved being with his family and will be so very, very missed. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington. Survivors include his parents: Ruben Arredondo Diaz of Mexico Rosa Maria Nunez of Grand Island, Nebraska Two brothers: Jaime (Cinthia) Arredondo of Kearney, Nebraska Ruben (Sarah) Arredondo of Bertrand, Nebraska One sister: Jasmine Arredondo of Grand Island, Nebraska Nieces and nephews: Damian Angelo, Ithaly, Kien, Natalie, Destiny and Anthony as well as his grandparents. Luis was preceded in death by his grandpa and one cousin, Denise. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jorge Canela officiating Burial will be in the Overton Cemetery at Overton, Nebraska Visitation will be held Friday, May 13, 2011, from 3-7 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. also at the church.
