Frank Henry Vollmer

Frank H. Vollmer 87, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Tri-County Hospital in Lexington. He was born January 16, 1924, at Overton, Nebraska to John and Mary (Barta) Vollmer. Frank attended Overton District #21 School. Frank served his Country in the United States Army during WWII from June 9, 1943 until he was honorably discharged on December 22, 1944. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann “Macky” Klauz on July 24, 1944, at Norton, Kansas. Frank was a hard worker his entire life and spent 17 years working for John Stuckey, several years with Central Alfalfa and retired after 15 years as warehouse manager for Triple F Feeds. He so enjoyed his beautiful garden, Nebraska Cornhusker football and reading. Family was important to Frank and he will be very missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of 66 years: Mary Ann “Macky” Vollmer of Lexington, Nebraska One son: Larry (Alice) Vollmer of Kearney, Nebraska Two daughters: Bev (Mick) Weaver of Lexington, Nebraska Pam Vollmer of Lexington, Nebraska Three grandsons: Brian (fiance’ Alisha) Weaver of Gothenburg, Nebraska; Matt (Jeana) Weaver of Lexington, Nebraska & Doug Vollmer of Lincoln, Nebraska. Nine great-grandchildren: Tyler, Morgan, Madisen, Bradyn, Ethan, Natalie, Makayla, Devyn and Lane One sister-in-law: Grace Vollmer of Kearney, Nebraska Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Alfred and Miles; one sister, Vera Boe, and five half- sisters. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Lexington with Pastor Duane Russell officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Robb Cemetery south of Lexington Visitation will be held Monday, March 28, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Evangelical Free Church. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
