Saul Diaz, 55, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at his home in Lexington. He was born March 11, 1955, at Puerto Barrios Izabal, Guatemala to Pedro and Tomasa Escobar. Saul graduated from high school in Guatemala. He was united in marriage to Martha Lydia de Diaz and two children were blessed to this marriage; Shanny and Allan. Saul moved to Lexington in 1995, where he went to work for IBP. He worked in the Processing Department and made many friends through the years. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He loved music, soccer and getting together with family and friends. Prior to moving to Lexington he worked construction and was skilled at laying tile. Saul will be so very missed by his many friends and his loving family. Survivors include his wife: Martha Lydia of Guatemala City, Guatemala His children: Shanny Diaz and Allan Diaz both of Guatemala City, Guatemala His parents: Pedro and Tomasa of Lexington, Nebraska One sister: Reyna (Tomas) Mendoza of Lexington, Nebraska Two nephews: Giovanni Ibarra of Lexington, Nebraska Alvaro Mendoza of Lexington, Nebraska Two nieces: Nancy Ibarra of Omaha, Nebraska Karina Mendoza of Lexington, Nebraska Saul was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Ibarra. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 25, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Paul Colling officiating. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011, from 1-6 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Family.
