Kent Elwin Frost, 57, of rural Overton, Nebraska, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at his home near Overton.
He was born October 2, 1953, at Alliance, Nebraska to Kenneth Elwin and Genevieve (Mills) Frost. Kent was a 1971 graduate of Hemingford High School and a 1976 graduate of Chadron State College, where he received his BA in Education.
Kent was united in marriage to Shari L. Marshall on July 7, 1984 in Kearney, Nebraska. Two sons were blessed to this marriage; Jacob & Bryan.
Following college, Kent taught Industrial Technology at Hyannis, Nebraska until 1988. He then went back to school and received his elementary teaching degree from Kearney State College. He taught at Westerville, Nebraska for four years. Teaching children was his love and even taught Driver’s Education for many years, bless his heart!!
After his teaching career he worked for several years for Bauer Construction out of Amherst, Nebraska and then decided to take a leap of faith and began his own company, Frost Paint & Repair. Kent was successful at this also as he enjoyed working with his hands and helping others. He then taught for a semester at Lexington Middle School in 1995, and following that went full-time with his painting business.
Kent was an accomplished woodworker and made many beautiful items for Shari, family and friends. Family and church were his life and attended every event his son’s were involved with in school. He absolutely loved wrestling and coached for several years.
Kent enjoyed gardening and “tinkering”. He was a man of great faith who had the patience of Job and was a faithful member and on the Board at the Berean Bible Church in Lexington.

Two sons: Jacob and Ammie Frost of Chadron, Nebraska with the first grandson on the way.

One sister: Dixie & Roger Bussey of Hemingford, Nebraska
Kent was preceded in death by his father; Shari’s parents; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law.
Funeral Services in Lexington will be held Monday, February 14, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Berean Bible Church with Pastor Glenn Johnson officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 13, 2011, from 3-5 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.
A second service will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home in Alliance, Nebraska.
Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery at Hemingford.
Memorials are suggested to the Berean Bible Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
