Loren N. Royle, 71, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Lexington.
He was born March 20, 1939, in Custer County, Nebraska to Bernard Edward and Marie J.K. (Hansen) Royle. Loren grew up in Sherman County, Nebraska. He was a 1957 graduate of Litchfield High School and a 1958 graduate from Omaha School of Commerce.
Loren was united in marriage to Joyce Hughes on May 25, 1958, at Hazard, Nebraska. Six children were blessed to this marriage; Loren,Leroy, Debra, Glen, Niels and Becki.
Loren drove the school bus for the Ravenna Public Schools and in 1978 moved his family to Lexington. He worked for a time at Sperry New Holland and then went to work for the Nebraska Department of Roads. He was in charge of the Eastbound Rest Area between Lexington and Cozad and received numerous certificates from the state for his waste water management. He was employed by the Nebraska Department of Roads for over 17 years.
In Loren’s younger years he enjoyed hunting, bowling, playing cards, riding motorcycles and as the years went by you could find him in his yard, doing yard work, gardening, enjoying the squirrels and birds. He was quite the story teller, he loved to tease and always reminded his family to “check their powerball numbers”. Loren will be so very missed.
Loren was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. Loren loved his Lord along with sharing His word with family and friends.

Niels E. Royle of Gillette, Wyoming
Two daughters: Debra A. (Mike R.) Abrams of Lexington, Nebraska
Becki J.(Scott R.) Meredith of Lincoln, Nebraska
Two grandchildren: Aaron J. Reimers of Grand Island, Nebraska
Andrea J. (Phillip J.) Lueking of Holdrege, Nebraska
One great-grandson: Gage Lucas with one great-grandchild on the way.
Two sisters-in-law: Lois Royle of Lexington, Nebraska
Cecelia Royle of Grand Island, Nebraska
Also, survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Leroy J. and two brothers; Milan and twin brother, Larry.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 23, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Megan Morrow officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery east of Lexington.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to the Royle Family for later designation.
